Some fun for your Friday

24 Feb
Time for me to delve into my Internet bag of tricks and pull out some bits of nonsensica for everyone’s enjoyment. First, an update: I am about one-third of the way through Kate Elliott’s Cold Fire, and it is so heart-poundingly fun, I can’t wait to share a review with you. But for now…enjoy these.

First up, it’s Goatee and Me. (I tried to find this on YouTube so I could embed it here, but no dice. Trust me, just click the link to watch the video.) I have no idea what’s going on here, if this is a joke or if this man really does have a pet goat that he hangs out with and squires around town, but it’s fantastic. Don’t worry, nothing gross, just an odd man and his lovable goat.

If you were a teen in the 90s like I was, you’ll enjoy this article on Flavorwire. It’s about….90s TV teen power couples! Personally, the list is not complete without Jessie and Slater from Saved by the Bell (they opted for Zack and Kelly. WHATEVER.), but it’s still pretty rad. They’ve got Brenda and Dylan from 90210, easily the most angsty couple from my angsty years.

I’ve saved the best for last. It’s short but oh-so-wonderful. It’s a girl, running with her pet camel. Doesn’t sound like much, but what you may not realize is that camels are the most awkward runners in the animal kingdom. Seriously, why are they built in a way that makes running this goofy? Watch until the end to get the camel’s input.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a camel run, not just pace! That was awesome! As was the goat on the swing and the goat surfing. Crazy. I want a goat! A mini goat, maybe three, and a spot of land where they can frolic.

Okay, I just spent WAY too long looking for the cute goat video I used to watch daily. I couldn’t find it, but here’s another favorite of mine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=IQ6xGMSOu1E

(I love the dog at first, its look like, “Where’d they go?”)

Wow, those pygmy goats were so cute! I love they way they kind of hop/run. Can we get some? We’ll move to a commune and be crazy goat ladies.

You are the second friend this week to want to move into a commune. I think I could rally together enough people to make it work! 🙂 To make my other friend happy, we’d have to have chickens too. And then just think: All of our home libraries would be right next door. We could share all our favorite books! I love this idea—goats and books!

Thanks for sending the camel race link. I’ve watched it about 6 times now and laugh like crazy every time.
